Perchance a Salty Breeze
Chapter 2
Your body felt heavy and cold. You were surrounded by utter darkness. It felt as though you were being swallowed up by an un-nameable force. Remembering your sister and mother you shot up from your laying position and your widened eyes were now looking around in a furious manner. Much to your surprise you found yourself sitting on a bed covered in rich fabrics. The room around you was all wooden which led you to believe that you were on a ship; well, that and the fact that there were cannon shots sounding off, and very close. Not to far from the bed you were on was a large desk that was covered with a series of parchment. Most seemed to be maps, which was pretty stereotypical of a pirate. Above there were the sounds of foot steps rushing around.
           You got up and ran for the door but fell over half way there and incredible pain coursing through your side. When you went to examine the wound you found that it had been bandaged. "W-what in the world..?" You mumbled. To deep in thought you failed to notice the door open and reveal a man in a blood red captain's coat. On top of his messy unkept hair was a red captain's hat rimmed with gold and garnished with a fluffy white feather. He stared down at your figure with Emerald eyes that were twinkling in sheer amusement. Only when he spoke did you come back to reality. "Ah, I see you're awake now love. Did you have a pleasant rest?" You narrowed your (E/c) eyes at him and spit in the general direction of his feet.
"As if." "Now, now, is that anyway to speak to your savior?" You looked back up at him with a shocked expression before anger and adrenaline fueled your actions. You slammed him against the wall by the collar of his white button up shirt, which was under the red pirate coat. "You dirty lying Bastard!" Your grip loosened in surprise when you noticed he had started chuckling. His shaggy blonde hair in his eyes ever so slightly. He then took this opportunity and switched the positions but instead of his hands on your collar he was choking you. You attempted to say something but all that came out was a small strangled cry.
"Shhh…Just listen for now love." He then leaned his down so that his mouth was next to your ear. When he began speaking again it was in a low a menacing tone. "Since this is my ship I do expect you to follow my rules. Which include the following: 1) you are not to back talk me, ever. 2) You will be working for me now. 3) Stay away from a male named Francis Bonnfoy. 4) If anyone dares harass you, you WILL tell me right away."
He then let go and helped a stunned and breathless you to the bed. You then couldn't help but think 'What…? Why would he care if anyone harassed me….? And jeeze is he bi-polar or what? And he's kinda cute--- WAIT WHAT?! No way in hell did I just think that! What is wrong with me!?!?!?'  He sighed and began walking for the door, but then paused. "And love?" You looked up at him and stared at him. "I'm sorry about your mum and sister…." He then turned and left. But surprisingly he didn't lock the door. Not that you particularly cared the only thing you could think of right now was that your only family was now dead….
Without warning hot tears began to run down your face. You fell over onto the bed and wrapped your arms around yourself while your stomach twisted into knots. After hours of endless crying you eventually fell asleep. You hadn't really noticed that about an hour ago that the ship had started sailing again leaving the town you had grown up in behind. The pirate captain entered his room and gave a sigh before tossing his Red captain's hat onto his desk. He then shed his coat and placed it on the back of the chair by his desk. When he looked over at you he could have sworn his heart broke into a million pieces.
"…How long has she been crying…?" His emerald eyes stared at you softly, but he could understand your pain. His parents had also died by the hands of a pirate. Once he had finally torn his eyes away from you he took off his shirt, boots, and pants. Walking over to you silently he placed a small kiss on your forehead and tucked you into his bed. He then climbed into the other side of the bed and closed his eyes, soon finding sleep.
